Tips to Choosing an Airport Shuttle Service in Western Sydney
Sacks are stuffed, the flight is booked, the hotel is reserved, and all plans set for the trip. WAIT!
Have you thought about how you are going to get to and from Sydney airport?
Like so many people, you plan your trip, you successfully plan to fly to the other side of the world, but so often, no one actually plans how they are getting TO the airport to leave, and FROM the airport when they get back.
Hiring the right shuttle service can be quite a challenge, as with anything. And of course, we are going to tell you we are wonderful, and you should book with us, but let’s have a good look at the “Why should I or shouldn’t I” situation for a minute.
Remember, reliability and punctuality are second only to courtesy and safety when you are booking your shuttle bus. Think about how you make so many decisions in your life, you ask a friend don’t you?
Of course, not everyone has a friend who has travelled, and even if they do, does the friend travel often enough to be able to give a reliable opinion on the consistent reliability of a shuttle bus? Probably not.
So here a few suggestions on making that decision, and of course, we expect you to apply these same principles when looking at us to see if we stack up.
Reputation does matter!
In most cities, you can find many different airport shuttle service to choose from. However, when it comes to punctuality for pickups and drop-offs, well-mannered drivers, and comfy vans that can accommodate you and your luggage, all shuttle companies are definitely not created equal.
For any business, reputation does matter, and the most genuine way you can find out about a company, ANY company, including us, is by going through customer’s reviews on the internet. In addition, make sure the shuttle service has proper credentials and necessary licensing to offer services. Ask the question, it is your right, make sure the shuttle service you choose has experienced chauffeurs and operates vehicles that are properly licensed and insured and safety tested. You have a right to know what you are signing up for, and any company that will not tell you, is probably not the company we would choose.
Choosing the right kind of ride
When it comes to airport shuttle, size does matter, especially when travelling with family or large group. Shuttle companies provide different size vans you can choose for your convenience. Our fleet of minibuses can cope with up to 13 passengers in our smaller buses, and these buses have 3 child safety anchor points, another important question to ask. It is not a LEGAL requirement of the vehicle is a registered public passenger vehicle, and seats a minimum of 13 people (including the driver), however we prefer to provide the seats if possible. Our next size bus can carry 21 passengers (there are no provisions for safety anchors in buses this size or larger) and then up to our 33 passenger coach, and upwards to a 65 passenger bus, so you can see we have versatility, but that is not always what you need. You just need to fit YOUR group, and you can be pretty sure we can do that for you.
Larger groups, of course, have more luggage, and a properly enclosed waterproof luggage trailer is vital for these situations, so please, always ask if this is available, and if it is included in the price. Some companies will charge extra for the trailer, or have a trailer that is not waterproof. No one wants it to rain on your holiday, but if it does, you want to have dry clothes to change in to.
Choose a service that’s on Time
Travel plans will sometimes change. Sometimes you know, other times, like flight cancellations, you don’t, or fights that get delayed once in the air…. Not much you can do. It is important that your company has a “backup” plan, in the event that all goes amiss. No company can cover every situation that would be foolish to say, however the larger a company, the more likely it will have the redundancy to be able to make change the adjustments that are sometimes necessary.
Reputable shuttle services will track flights to make sure to never let their customers wait any longer than is absolutely necessary for their ride, This level of service lets you travel with peace of mind know someone’s out there who is bending over backwards to meet you when you with the least possible inconvenience to you.
Finally, EVERY airport shuttle company will advertise or tell you that they are the best, and to be honest, there are certainly a lot of good operators out there, BUT, when everyone is “the best airport shuttle service in Sydney” it can be daunting to know which one to choose.
As mentioned earlier, a little research, good planning, and a few thoughtful questions will help you to make that decision. Some companies may not have reviews anywhere, which makes it hard to check their service, I have found that any company who PREVENTS you from writing a review on their Facebook page, for example, is probably afraid of what might be written, and I would always stay clear of them, regardless of what service I was looking to book. Other sites do not have a particular company simply because no one has put a comment or review on that site. Good reviews often do not see the light of day, but a bad review will be posted everywhere, so it takes a little effort, but when all is said and done, go with the guys who are willing to back their service with a money back guarantee. We can do it, so I don’t see why others can’t, if they truly believe Good luck and bon voyage!
